After our most recent vetrinarian appointment for the dog, CM has taken an extra interest in taking care of Sheba. We found out that Sheba has something wrong with her heart. She hasn't been eating much and has been lathargic. So I took her in to the vet office and after some x-rays they found that she has a build up of fluid around her heart and lungs. She has since been on lasix and is doing rather well. We can't afford to run all of the tests and eco cardiogram x-rays that they would like to do....so we are comforting ourselves in the fact that she is now comfortable and happy. She has lived 8 wonderful years with us and we will enjoy whatever time we have left with her.
LJ is concerned too, and watched carefully when we took Sheba to the vet. She tries so hard to be gentle with Sheba. She tells me, "Mom...Sheba's a beautiful dog. She's a dog, not a cat. But Sheba's sick. We need to take good care of her."
Such a beautiful dog! We love her so much!

I love that vet set. It's so cute to see the kids taking care of their "animals" (including each other). I'm very sorry to hear that Sheba is ill. She's so gentle and loyal and obedient--probably the perfect dog. (But don't tell Malcom I said so.)
