Swimming Lessons at the YMCA

CM and LJ are so excited to be taking swimming lessons! They both love the water and hate having to hold onto the side of the pool while waiting for their turn. CM has only one other person in her class and therefore doesn't really have to wait much. However, the little one has 6 other kids in her class and just can't control herself. She's the tiniest one and is therefore the closest one to the ladder. But anytime she has to wait she will slowly swim to the ladder, around the ladder, and back, watching her teacher or me the whole time to see if she's gonna get caught. My evil eyes from across the room don't seem to bother her much. (She must get that form her Daddy)! I can't say that I blame her for swimming when she's not supposed to. I was never really very patient either!

We Love our Dog!

Notice how uncomfortable LJ is. HHMMM...wonder why?
It couldn't be that in the back of her mind she knows that this is the same sister
that pushed her down the steps not too long ago.???????
They do love eachother.......really!

After our most recent vetrinarian appointment for the dog, CM has taken an extra interest in taking care of Sheba. We found out that Sheba has something wrong with her heart. She hasn't been eating much and has been lathargic. So I took her in to the vet office and after some x-rays they found that she has a build up of fluid around her heart and lungs. She has since been on lasix and is doing rather well. We can't afford to run all of the tests and eco cardiogram x-rays that they would like to do....so we are comforting ourselves in the fact that she is now comfortable and happy. She has lived 8 wonderful years with us and we will enjoy whatever time we have left with her. LJ is concerned too, and watched carefully when we took Sheba to the vet. She tries so hard to be gentle with Sheba. She tells me, "Mom...Sheba's a beautiful dog. She's a dog, not a cat. But Sheba's sick. We need to take good care of her."
Such a beautiful dog! We love her so much!

Happy Mother's Day

Chloe: Do you love your Nanna, Mommy? (meaning my mom)

Mommy: Of course I do.

Chloe: Do you love Daddy's Nanna? (meaning Jason's mom)

Mommy: Yes I do. Do you love your nanas?

Chloe: Yes, of course I do.

Mommy: Your a very lucky girl to have such great nanas, huh?

Chloe: Yes I am VERY LUCKY! But Mommy, I love you too.

Interesting Conversations with Chloe

Please notice the fairy on her shirt. She seems to be a fire fairy. Also keep in mind that Chloe gets in trouble for using "potty words" at school or at home. The only time she's allowed to use potty words is with Daddy. This is a shirt that my mom got at a second hand store to keep at her house for the just in case moments that crop up on all of us mommies every once in awhile. Well...Chloe experienced this just in case moment as the last time we went to my mother's I forgot the girls suitcase at home on the landing. No, actally she got this shirt the time before that. Anyway...this has now become one of Chloe's favorite shirts. The other night we were having a discussion about the shirt and it went like this:

Chloe: Why does my fairy princess have fire?

Mommy: I don't know...but it looks like it might help her fly faster.

Chloe: Why?

Mommy: So that she can keep up with Superman.

Chloe: And Spiderman too? But why is there fire?

Mommy: I don't know, Chloe. Maybe she's just got a lot of gas.

Chloe: What gas?

Mommy: Maybe she just farts so much that it turns into fire so she can zoom through the sky.

Chloe liked that as she proceeded to laugh for the next five minutes.

Now this evening she decided to wear it to bed. As she was putting it on and walking toward me to show off her concocted pj outfit, she says, "Now Mommy, I don't want you to use potty words about my shirt today."

I guess I'm just not such a good role model sometimes. Maybe I was trying to fill in for Daddy?!..

Carolyn got baptised!

Cliff and Carolyn
Carolyn's Mom and Brother
Jason, Carolyn, and Steph Sister Sargeant, Carolyn, and Sister Sherman

My friend Carolyn got baptised April 20th and it was a wonderful experience to be a part of. We have been meeting with the missionaries at our house once a week for months. It has been amazing to see her testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ grow. In many ways I feel like I have been reliving my conversion through her. She has battled through all of the anti literature to find the truth and know what's right. She knows God lives and that His Son Jesus Christ died to save us from our sins. She knows that the gospel fo Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. She got baptised because she knew it was the right thing to do, after all that's what Jesus did! She has overcome the harsh words from friends and family telling her that she was making a mistake. She is so happy that she got baptised and I see changes in her life, for the better, all the time. She's been reading the Book of Mormon and reminding me of what's important. I've felt compelled to read the Book of Mormon from beginning to end. (In the past I've always been interrupted and skipped around). We're both reading at least a chapter every day. It's great! I love this gospel. I love how it completes me and makes me happy. I wish everyone would have it. This world would be a much nicer place !

These are some pics from her baptism day! Oh yeah! She's now dating Jason's best friend Cliff...and the two are very happy together! I'm hoping they will get married...they are so good together. They really balance eachother out quite nicely!
