Our Hoover Dam Tour

This is a memorial to all the men who died while building the Hoover Dam. Many died just on the trec out into the desert to find the right spot to build the dam. Many died falling from great heights, and many died inside the tunnels...either then or much later.

A really big wrench that was actually used for something... I just can't remember what exactly! But it weighed 110 lbs! (Something to do with the power plant).

Waiting for the tour to start!

This shows the entire workings of the dam. ~ How it holds back the water and how it creates power. It's very impressive!

The power generators.

The tunnels that felt like caves....these freaked Chloe out a bit. I think she might be a bit chlostrophobic.

Our tour guide...."On with the dam tour!"

The dam was created as a way to control the Colorado River.

That's a lot of concrete!

The new bridge is completed. Now they are working on finishing the road which will be a faster way to get to and around the dam.

These leaning structures freak me out a little. Lily kept asking if they were going to fall over on us.

Tired of walking!

Going to get ice cream!
