Life has been a roller coaster since leaving New York. I really miss New York. We are still in limbo with our new house. The military hasn't exactly been what we were told it would be. They made promises to Jason and none of them have come to fruition. The VA loan is not going to happen. Now we have to try for an FHA loan. We should still be able to get the house, but are totally open to other options at this point. We are actually contemplating living on the base. Although the house would be smaller and not nearly as nice...it would allow us to have no ties to Las Vegas...which might be a REALLY good thing! Hopefully we will figure it all out by the end of this week.
My mom is here now, which is great! Jason is back, which is great! The girls are kind of getting back to "normal", which is great too. Lincoln is sleeping like a champ...although I feed him every 2-4 hours, -he is such a good baby....which is also great!
(Yes, all of our stuff is still in storage).
Yesterday we went to a 4th of July celebration on the base. The girls had a blast jumping in bounce houses and riding small carnival type kiddie rides. They hated waiting for the fireworks to start, but loved the show once it had begun. Lily was very concerned at first because she thought the fireworks were hurting the sky. "But there are lines, Mommy. They are hurting the sky." After we explained that the lines turned into smoke and floated away she was totally okay with it.
The girls in their 4th of July outfits.
Notice the crossed legs!
Life in the Air Force is not what we had expected or anticipated. I'm hoping my next post will involve the closing on our house...or at least news that we are getting out of this hotel!
Happy 4th of July!

I am so glad you have your support system there. Good luck with the house stuff. We miss you here.
Glad to hear you had a good fourth despite the rocky start to Las Vegas. Remember that your experience in the military is what you make of it-despite being dealt a crappy hand at times. Keep your head up and enjoy that beautiful little guy.
My sister's husband is in the army, and that sounds about right - you never know what you're doing until you're doing it. There's absolutely no planning ahead. Sorry to hear about the loan...VERY frustrating. Your little guy is cute, and I'm glad he's a good baby!
I cannot believe you are still in the hotel. Many prayers being sent your way! Good luck with everything. (We miss NY too, if that helps any...)
